Coach and Committee Bowls and Curry Night
Saturday 3rd March 2007

The evening proved to be a resounding success. The final bowling league table is given below and shows at least one of those present should stick to distance running! Three teams of five were randomly selected by drawing of lots in the bar. One inexplicably had their scores enhanced through use of the devices on their alley which blocked the gutters. It wasn't my team though I could probably have done with them.
From there, we crossed through the car park to Atrium Court to take our seats for a well earned feed, admiring the eclipse of the moon on the way there. By this time, we had been joined by Chairman Stuart McCord who had zoomed back up the road from Loughborough. At 10.30pm, we were the restaurants final customers of the night. For my main course, I took the chicken tikka, as recommended by the hairdresser who had cut my hair that week, and most others followed suit. There wasn't a complaint from anywhere at the table about the three course offering.
In all, a very enjoyable evening and perhaps something that could be arranged for athletes in the future?

(I didn't have a score for Iain McEwan Junior. If anyone has it, I'll update the table, not that it will move me up a place).
Below: Iain McEwan, highest scorer at bowling. Pity he had me on his team.
