10th and 11th May- Scottish West District and Closed Senior Championships
This championship took place at Meadowbank, unless you were a pole vaulter in which case you were shipped over to Grangemouth. 16 athletes from the club took part over the weekend, yielding 6 medals, numerous good performances and, in the cases of Lynsey Greenfield (100m), Fiona Thomson (long jump) and Elena McKinlay (shot putt), some near misses for medals. My thanks go to Paul White for typing the following results up. If any are wrong, blame him.

27th April 2008- CSSL Division One, Linwood
The club continued their unbroken spell in the top division since 2000 at Linwood. Unfortunately, we struggled a bit, lack of numbers in the under 15s and under 17s being the main problem. The unscrutinised scores have us in 7th place as shown below.
1st- Kilbarchan, 696 points; 2nd- Giffnock North, 568; 3rd- Shettleston Harriers, 529; 4th- Ayr Seaforth, 528; 5th- Law and District, 436; 6th- East Kilbride, 421; 7th- Whitemoss, 386; 8th- Central, 336.
While disappointing, this is by no means a disaster and is not a reflection at all on those who competed for us who did themselves proud. As you will see, a small number of points will make a big difference. What's required is for us to stick together for the next two meetings. Next up is Grangemouth on 25th May.
The individual male results are here and the females here. Note that these are PDF files and may take a minute or so to open.

20th April 2008- Scottish Mens League and Scottish Womens League
Whitemoss were in action on two fronts. Firstly, at a very blustery Grangemouth, the began their return to Division 1 of the Mens League with a very promising 5th place finish. At least another two results like that from the other three meetings and we might just survive this time. The next one is a Saturday at Meadowbank, 17th May.
Along the motorway, at a not much warmer Meadowbank, Lorraine Boyd (400m hurdles, 100m hurdles, triple jump), Lynsey Greenfield (100m, 4 x 100m relay), Nicky McMurtrie (shot putt, javelin), Meghan Owen (shot putt), Stephanie Curran (800m) and Julie Whyteside (1500m) helped Team West finish 4th in the first Womens League match. This is the second year that Whitemoss have supported this league and, so far, it has proven successful. Click here for the full results.
