Two quickfire graded competitions took place over the Christmas holidays with a few club members availing themselves of the opportunity to enjoy some more indoor competition. While praising all who competed, I would make a special mention of young Alistair Stewart who did a 60m and 600m on the 30th in his first open grade and loved it. In winning his 600m, he ran what I thought was a very mature race, breaking away with 100m to go and was the fastest out of 6 under 11 boys doing this event. Perhaps one to watch for in the coming months?
Club results are as listed here with positions in respective heats.

The turnout from Whitemoss was healthy on a quite frankly foul night. My car radio played the Chris Rhea hit "The Road To Hell" on my way to Glasgow but thankfully the meeting was nothing of the sort in spite of the dreadful weather outdoors. Eight 200m races and seven 800m heats points to a worthwhile night's athletics.
The club's results are here. Note positions in 200m and 800m races are places in athlete's respective heats. Please email me any additions, corrections or PBs.

This was the first of three indoor competitions to determine who makes the finals in March. I competed in this before and my involvement with this site and officiating debut gave me reason to attend for this league for the first time in several years. Furthermore, I enjoyed it immensely. I can only admire the hardy individuals who pulled on their track spikes less than 24 hours after contesting a gruelling cross country but I admire everyone for competing and giving their all.

It was home advantage for Whitemoss athletes as Scotland's second biggest domestic cross country, behind the National, was run over an apparent mudbath at the Showgrounds in the town's old village. The weather stayed kind but Mother Nature had done its bit beforehand, saturating the surface making conditions a quagmire. Yes, even with a small hurdle thrown in for good measure at each lap, this was real cross country and the club results are here.
